  6. It was stated a while back, that NewTek announced that 4.0 will be 
  7. available for the Amiga, but will be the last version for the Amiga.  Of 
  8. the Toaster, I don't know what its future will be.  There is no Toaster 
  9. for anything else but Amigas, and I don't think this is going to change 
  10. soon, so that would create a problem when the next version of LW 4.0 is 
  11. done.  Hopefully by then, the buyers of C= will have started and perhaps 
  12. NewTek will change their mind and support the Amiga further since the 
  13. drought of machines has been very painful for NewTek to endure, and is by 
  14. far the #1 reason for seeking alternative platforms.  I mean, within the 
  15. DTV niche, I don't think people care whether they use a machine which 
  16. isn't a PC since by virtue of the Toaster, the Amiga already enjoys a 
  17. better reputation in the DTV crowd than others.  It's just a matter of 
  18. the HARDWARE being too expensive, and again, hopefully the buyers of C= 
  19. will fix things, perhaps offering A4000s with builtin 040/50s and 060/50s 
  20. which would compete better with 486 and Pentiums.
